Habersham Update – 8/20/13

Contingency Plan

Despite our best efforts to enter Gould Cottage on time, we must opt to utilize our contingency plan Aug. 26-30. The excessive rain (the third wettest summer in Savannah in the last 100 years!) has delayed our final site inspection for Gould Cottage to Thursday at the earliest. This makes Monday, Aug. 26 the earliest possible date to receive the certificate of occupancy. With that being said, we will utilize the spacious site of our sister campus in Rincon. In God’s providence, this offers us the perfect opportunity to unite as one school. We remain grateful for His provision. Nevertheless, we recognize the burden this will place on Main Campus families, especially those traveling from the islands. We are working on carpool and shuttle opportunities for islands families. Please let us know if you are driving from the islands and are unable to find and/or coordinate a carpool.

  1. Virginia B. Frick says:

Glenn comes from Wilmington Island. We are interested in carpooling.

  2. Jennifer Hodge says:

Ok, I think I got it. Several questions though- 1. Where do we park on Friday at BSBC? 2. Can you post directions from Gould to the West campus? Have no idea where the place is. 2. What if the inspection stuff is done on Monday, the 26th? Do we still have to go all the way to Rincon twice a day for the rest of the week? If the reason for this is that the classrooms wouldn’t be set up, can parents help with that in order to shorten the time period we have to drive to Rincon? 3. After school care: how/ when do we sign up, when does it start? 4. Can ya’ll alert parents we will have more gently used uniforms for sale at Saturday’s parent orientation? Ask them to bring items they’d like to sell to the BSBC on Friday each labelled with the following:
