Habersham Students Start Ocean Conservation Campaign

Sarah Katherine Bass and Helen McIntyre (6th Graders) and Aylah Hayes (8th Grade) went to Georgia’s first Youth Ocean Conservation Summit on February 28th. See a recap of the event here.  The girls came back from the Summit ready to start an awareness campaign here in Savannah.  They are developing a group called Georgia Youth Ocean Conservation Advocates (GYOCA).  They will use social media tounnamed (2) send out awareness issues concerning the coastal pollution and what others can do to help.  They are in the process of setting up a blog and planning a Beach Sweep as well.  They have started their Facebook and Instagram pages under Georgia Youth Ocean Conservation Advocates; so make sure to check them out. We are so proud of our Habersham students and the initiative they have taken in being good stewards of the beautiful world God created and entrusted to us.
