Messages from our Leadership
Your Habersham leaders have been working diligently to prepare for your return to campus in August! Our administrators, faculty and staff gathered yesterday and today for our annual time of professional development, in anticipation of our full return for the Fall Semester, health conditions and state regulations permitting. The health and safety of you and your students are one of our primary focuses as we plan to resume the effective delivery of high-quality, mission-centered instruction.
To that end, we have created and met with a volunteer task force of health professionals to help guide our administrative team as we solidify plans. On the task force are:
- Dr. Byron Colley of Dentistry for Children, a Habersham Board member who also serves on Governor Kemp’s advisory team for re-opening Savannah
- Dr. Lourens J. Willekes, II, MD, board-certified cardiac surgeon with Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery at Memorial Health
- Jennifer Willekes, an experienced healthcare compliance consultant and former long-time health compliance officer with Barnabas Health and Spectrum Health
Our final task force meeting is this next week, after which we will finalize our re-opening plan, submit it to our board, and share with our families immediately following.
