Mr. Sam Barber – Classical Languages
B.A. Biblical and Theological Studies, Bethlehem College and Seminary
Sam has been in classical Christian education since 2012. He married Jessie in 2011, and they are both members of Ephesus Church in Rincon, GA. It was through his experience studying Greek and Hebrew in college that Sam came to love language, and especially the classical languages. He seeks to instill in his students a love for the languages and the ability to interact with an author in his own language, as a means to help them become better, truer, and more courageous learners. Sam also enjoys reading, writing, playing various musical instruments, as well as playing tennis and ultimate Frisbee. He is also currently pursuing an M.Div. through Reformed Baptist Seminary.
Ms. Connie Bayliss – Humanities Teacher
B.A., Washington & Lee University
Connie grew up in Salem, Virginia, where she attended a classical Christian school, and grew to love learning as a means of understanding God’s creation and her place in rebuilding His kingdom. She studied English literature and Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Washington and Lee University, has been teaching since 2011, and in 2017 she will complete her master’s degree in English Literature from the Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English. She strives to convey her love of literature and history to students, and to understand humanity and God’s purpose for us through the words and actions of the men and women of the past. On the rare occasions she is between good books, she enjoys spending time outside kayaking, hiking, and being dragged around by her incorrigible dog.
Mr. Brent Beaumont – Humanities Department Chair
B.S. Mechanical Engineering, University of Arkansas
M.Div., Reformed Theological Seminary
M.A. Liberal Arts, St. John’s College
Brent has been teaching in classical, Christian schools for the past 4 years. With degrees in Engineering, Theology, and the Liberal Arts, his expertise and interests cover a broad range of subjects. He especially enjoys motivating students to wrestle with the great books and great ideas of Western Civilization so that by drawing upon the wisdom of the past, they might grow in both wisdom and humility themselves. Brent has been married to Katie since 2005, and they have 2 children, Walker and Lauren. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys fishing, roasting coffee, and cheering for his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks.
Mr. Justin Blakey – Logic Math Teacher
B.A. Mathematics, Armstrong State University
Justin brings with him over 8 years of teaching at the high school and college level. His level of devotion, preparation, and commitment to each class period is remarkable, earning him the frequent designation: favorite math teacher ever. Justin and his wife are Savannah natives and have one young daughter.
Ms. Lily Davis
B.A. English, Covenant College
A native of Laurens, SC, Lily was classically educated through high school and, as a result, brings a well-rounded love for and knowledge of many things to Habersham. From literature to science, from writing to softball, she has already brought a poised joy to the Logic School faculty. Lily has spend her most recent time teaching Environmental Education at Barrier Island Environmental Education Camp in South Carolina. She looks forward to working at Habersham where she can share our focus on Christ-centered truth, well-rounded classical scholarship, and the essential institution of the family.
Mr. Jason Manley – Science Department Chair
B.S. Chemistry and M.S. Science & Religion
Jason brings with him 14 years of teaching experience and a plethora of of teaching awards, including two STAR teacher awards, two teacher-of-the-year awards, multiple nominations for Disney’s national teacher of the year award, and the teacher of the year award for the Academy of the Arts, Science, and Technology, plus extensive laboratory research experience and professional affiliations. An obvious science expert with brilliant, creative ideas, he looks forward to developing a top-of-the-line science program for Habersham. He and his wife, a veterinarian, have one daughter, Cecilia, who will attend Habersham this year.
Mrs. Hilary Tucker
B.A. History and B.S. Journalism, Boston University
Hilary brings with her over 14 years of teaching experience, the last seven years teaching middle and high school Latin. Before devoting her time to teaching, she served as an editor and speechwriter at institutions such as The Heritage Foundation and the Acton Institute. We are pleased to have her expertise and look forward to how she will further develop our middle and high school Latin program. She and her husband have two daughters attending 7th and 11th grades at Habersham.
Mrs. Susan Barry – Science Teacher – Girls Basketball/Volleyball Head Coach
B.S. Nursing, Clemson University
Susan grew up in Savannah and graduated from Calvary Day School as an All-Region Basketball player in 1988. She played 1 year at Rhodes College before attending Clemson University, where she graduated in 1994. Susan worked as a trauma ICU nurse for several years before marrying Joel in 2002. They have 2 sons, CJ and Ike, both of whom attend The Habersham School. Susan began coaching the girls’ basketball team in January 2014, and in May of that year she was also named Varsity Volleyball Coach.
The 2014-15 Lady Patriots had a very successful year in volleyball and basketball, advancing to the GICAA Division II State tournament in both sports. Coach Barry led the volleyball team to the quarterfinals and the Varsity Girls’ basketball team to the semi-finals of their state tournaments. Coach Barry has received her Impact Certification from USA Volleyball, is a coach for Club Savannah, and was named a GICAA Division II All Star Coach for basketball for 2014-15.
Mrs. Melissa Bebelos – Early Childhood
B.S. Early Childhood Education, Wheelock College
Melissa is originally from Massachusetts and moved here with her family in 2011. She joined the Habersham team in 2013. Teaching young children is her passion; she has had a long career as an Early Childhood educator in a variety of settings. After graduating from Wheelock College in Boston, she began as a preschool teacher with a local daycare. Her career quickly jumped from daycare to a position for several years as Educational Coordinator presenting her original curriculum program, a Rug Weaver’s Tale, to local public/private schools, libraries, and museums as a representative to her family oriental rug business. Time in varied settings and age groups, Melissa returned to being a preschool teacher in 2009 and is happy to continue teaching PreK(4) at Habersham. She lives here in Savannah with her husband, Paul, and their two sons, Andrew (10th) and Christopher (7th). When she is not teaching, Melissa enjoys time with family, Cape Cod beaches photography, calligraphy, and spending time with friends.
Mrs. Cindy James – Early Childhood
B.S. Early Childhood, Elementary, & Middle School Education

Master’s in Human Relations, University of Oklahoma
Cindy has spent more than 12 years teaching in Early Childhood Education. Her years of teaching include PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. She has taught in both private and public schools throughout Virginia, Georgia, Germany, and Hawaii and worked on a team developing reading curriculum in Frederick, MD. We are glad this sought-after teacher chose to join the Habersham faculty. She has been married to Robert for 24 years, and they have three daughters.
Mrs. Kendra Delgado – Kindergarten
B.S. Psychology and B.S. Special Education – Learning Disabilities, Hope College
Kendra brings seven years of Early Childhood teaching experience to 1st grade and a lifetime of involvement in education, coming from a family deeply entrenched in college administration and primary education. She taught Kindergarten for five years. She and her husband relocated to Savannah in 2013, where she began working in early childhood education at The Habersham School. Kendra looks forward to using her experience and education to foster a love for learning and encourage a desire to know Christ in each child.
Mrs. Nancy Martin – 1st Grade
B.S. Early Childhood Education, Armstrong State University
A native of Savannah and a graduate of Savannah Christian, Nancy brings several years of teaching experience to the early elementary classroom. She holds a Georgia Teaching Certificate and has taught in both private and public school settings. Most recently, she taught 1st grade for seven years, where she developed a love for the teaching of reading and phonics. She enjoys using literature in the classroom to create a love of learning and curiosity in her students. Nancy is married to Adam, and they have three sons attending Habersham (grades 5, 9, and 10).

Mrs. Jenna Peacock – 4th Grade
B.S. Business Administration, M.B.A., University of Maryland
Jenna fell in love with classroom teaching after serving as a full-time substitute at Habersham, where she quickly became a beloved favorite of both teachers and students and an integral part of the Habersham culture. Jenna has worked in business and as a tutor in Algebra and Grammar. She says she loves the students and warm, relational culture at Habersham and looks forward to sharing her love for learning with the students who share it back with her. She and her husband Mike have three children – Megan, 19; Steven, 15; and Emily, 18).
Mrs. Casey Fields – 5th Grade

Mrs. June Moore
B.F.A. Theatre Performance, Wichita State University
June spent four years in the Wichita Public Schools as a Parent Involvement Specialist and tutor for a Title One school. In Georgia, she served as a substitute teacher for the Paulding County school district, followed by a year as a Kindergarten Aide. She spent five years serving on a Marietta Georgia Community Theatre board while acting and directing. Most recently, she served as a devoted, part-time aide in the Kindergarten classroom at Habersham. June and her husband Kevin have one daughter and one spoiled dog.
Arts and Athletics
Mrs. Lauren Key – Director of Fine Arts
B.S. Elementary Education with Minor in Dance, Belhaven College
Lauren grew up in Birmingham, AL, where she danced full-time at The Briarwood Ballet. She then moved to Jackson, MS, and attended Belhaven College. After college, the professional company Ballet Magnificat offered her a position that continued for four years. She retired from dancing in 2001 and opened her own ballet studio, training more than 100 students for two years. She and her husband have lived in Savannah for nine years, and they have three daughters who also attend Habersham. Lauren is The Habersham School’s ballet instructor, teaching PreK-4th grade girls, as well as 5th grade girls who have elected to continue their training.
Mr. Jared Seff – Visual Arts Instructor
B.F.A. Painting and Drawing, Savannah College of Art and Design
Jared’s artwork has already earned him many significant awards and achievement, including but not limited to, a portrait of former president, Bill Clinton, which hangs at the Bill Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas; a sketchbook that travels permanently with the Sketchbook Project of the Brooklyn Art Library; a portrait of Brigadier General Wilma Vaught that hangs in the Women’s Auxiliary at Arlington National Cemetery; and a portrait of Sir Paul McCartney (signed by Jared and Sir Paul) that sold for $11,000 at an auction for Adopt-A-Minefield. Jared has been teaching private lessons and workshops since he was sixteen.
