SAVANNAH, GA, 8/10/22 – The Habersham School has named Scott Shippy to its Board of Trustees, the school recently announced.
Shippy, a graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Business in Marketing, works as an Associate Broker for Integrity Real Estate and is the owner/broker for Savannah Property Management. He and his wife Carrie, a volunteer and coach for Habersham’s middle school volleyball program, have two children, Myla and Tyler, both enrolled at The Habersham School in the seventh and ninth grades respectively.
“I am amazed and impressed with the continued resolve of The Habersham School’s teachers, leadership, and students in demonstrating true consistent learning through understanding the unbreakable tapestry of the word taught through all subjects every day; an education that provides an understanding of what you believe and why, an ability to defend it, and an ability to share it throughout life,” said Shippy. “I am honored and challenged to be engaged on the board for Habersham and hope to earn God’s blessing in all things we do according to his will and lead by his spirit.”
Shippy has been a steadfast volunteer at Habersham since first enrolling his son Tyler in 2018. In addition to his volunteerism at Habersham, Shippy serves as a volunteer on the finance committee for the Savannah area Young Life. The Shippys currently attend Community Bible Church.
“I am excited to welcome Scott Shippy to The Habersham School Board of Trustees,” said Habersham Head of School, Bill McGee. “Scott has already proven his devotion to the school by chairing the Building and Grounds Committee, which is overseeing the renovation project at Gould Cottage. His enthusiasm and expertise in the areas of real estate and property management will greatly benefit the school now and in the future.”
“Scott will be an asset as he serves on the Board for The Habersham School and I want to thank his entire family for their support as he serves,” added Chairman of the Habersham Board of Trustees, Dr. Byron Colley”
