Savannah’s only full-day PK4 – 12 classical, Christian school.
Who will your child become?
Welcome to The Habersham School! We are delighted that you are interested in learning more
about our school and its distinctive mission. As you peruse this website you will discover that
Habersham is a special community of believers who have formed a covenantal partnership to
provide an outstanding Christ-centered education in the classical tradition for students in
preschool through twelfth grade. Habersham students are nurtured in a close-knit community,
challenged to discover and develop their God-given talents, and encouraged to embrace their
identity and purpose in Christ. We follow the classical model of education, which divides
learning into three phases: grammar, logic, and rhetoric. This timeless approach to education —
coupled with biblical worldview teaching — prepares students to succeed in college and in life.
One of Habersham’s core values is captured in the Latin phrase, imago Dei, which translates “in
the image of God.” We believe that all people are individuals who are made in the image of God
and thus are worthy of our respect and dignity. Therefore, we create a school culture that
recognizes the eternal value of all humans, born and unborn, affirms their role as image-
bearers, and celebrates their unique place in God’s Kingdom. Our small, intimate environment
affords our students many opportunities to develop leadership skills. Habersham students are
fully engaged, active participants in school life, not spectators. At Habersham, we not only
know our students by name, we know their strengths, weaknesses, needs, and special giftings.
If you’re looking for a school whose mission is to, “partner with God as His servants in seeking
the restoration of His image in our students through education,” and if you want a school
where your child will be known, loved, and prepared, The Habersham School may be just what
you’re looking for. I invite you to visit our school and experience the Habersham difference.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Bill McGee
Interim Head of School
Is Habersham right for your family?
Wondering if Habersham could be the right fit for your family? Here are some good indicators to help you decide.
Faith
We point our students to Christ at every turn, partnering with parents and their involvement in a local church in raising the child in the admonition of the Lord.
Priorities
Education is more than merely transferring knowledge from one mind to another, for the mind is only one aspect of the human person: we are also body and soul; will and affections; loves and hatreds. A Habersham education, therefore, is not merely work and is not merely a matter of the mind; rather it is a matter of the soul. While academic rigor is important to us, we are also equally concerned with who your child is becoming.
Relationships
Equal to academic rigor is character formation. Who will your child become? We are a community of faith where learning within relationships with faculty, staff, students, and others is not only valued but encouraged.
