What is the Habersham Fund?
In young schools, an annual fund typically serves to fill the margin between the tuition revenue the school receives and the school’s operational expenses as defined in the board-approved budget. Our annual fund, called “The Habersham Fund” has served that purpose since our founding.
Due to prudent stewardship of our expenses and God’s blessings of enrollment growth, The Habersham School has matured and that will be reflected in The Habersham Fund’s focus. Beginning this year we are shifting the The Habersham Fund’s purpose from operational needs to directly impacting the Patriot experience for our students. A portion will also be allocated to serve the long-term growth and sustainability of our school. Here are just a few examples:
- Academic Program Enhancements – The reintroduction of experiential student trips, both domestic and international.
- Facility Upgrades – The Habersham Library, a computer lab, a science lab, the addition of a Fine Arts building.
- Athletics – Purchasing a second athletic shuttle bus, expanding the baseball stands, adding an athletic storage shed, and seating improvements in the PAC.
- Classroom Tools and Resources – Technology for faculty use in classrooms.
- Professional Development opportunities for staff & faculty – Classical Christian Education classes, seminars, conferences, professional organizations, and post-graduate classes.
