This annual event marks an important day in the life of our students. New students are welcomed and inducted into the House System. Placement into our four houses, Lafayette, Madison, Pulaski, or Washington, is determined by our House Leadership and kept secret until Opening Ceremonies.
First Day of School: August 11th
Gould Cottage students are welcome to arrive between 7:40 and 7:55.
Dismissal will be at 2:50 pm.
Habersham Hall students may arrive between 7:30 and 7:55.
Dismissal will be at 3:05 pm
All students should enter through the front door. A faculty or staff member will be there to greet students. Please do not block traffic on Habersham Street or park your car on Perry Lane, which runs adjacent to the building. If there is not a parking spot in front of the school for drop off, you may find a spot on Perry Street
Dismissal (3:05 pm)
Students are picked up in front of the building. There is no aftercare provided for 9th-12th Grade students.
While our historic downtown location provides many advantages, it prevents a traditional car lane. Parents are advised to briefly pull into an on-street parking spot in order to drop off students. Please note that City Ordinances prevent cars from stopping in lanes of traffic, including Perry Lane (on the south side of the building). Due to space and safety issues, parents may not drive into the Faculty Parking lot to drop off students.
Students who drive will need to find parking on the street. Click here to view a map of different parking options. Please note that free parking can be found south of Liberty Street.
As we begin a new school year, please ensure that your contact information is up to date in the FACTS Family Portal.
Please print and complete one set of Matriculation Forms (medical and release forms) per student. Return forms to your school office during Meet The Teacher or on the first day of school. Printed packets are available upon request.
The Certificate of Immunization form is required for all incoming, new students. Updated forms are required for existing students entering Kindergarten and 7th grade. Forms can be returned to the Gould Cottage Office prior to the first day of school. Click here to see a sample form.
Sports Physical – for athletes only
All students in 5th-12th grade who plan to participate on a Habersham sports team must complete a Sports Physical Form annually prior to participation in practices or games. Physicals can be returned to the Gould Cottage Office, attention Kate Welch.
