I recently spoke to a peer who is a strong advocate for Classical Christian Schools. Our conversation was about the value of a Classical School experience. He commented, “I know a lot of people who received a solid education, went to a fine college, got a nice job, and now make a lot of money, but they are not good people.” I would suggest that we all know people like that. Is that success? Maybe in the eyes of the world, but not of parents who aspire for their children something more meaningful and enduring.
Contrary to how the world measures success, I believe you want something more for your children and that may be a major factor in your choice to invest in their future by sending them to a Christian School. Not just any Christian school, but one that follows the Classical model that takes a different time-tested approach that has been proven worthy over thousands of years.
The Habersham School is purposely focused on the fundamentals and strategies that used to be part of a well-rounded educational experience. These fundamentals go beyond the academic; they deliver results that lead students to an understanding of how to be good people – adults of integrity, virtuous, selfless, with a deep love of learning, and who understand that they are God’s children, made in His image. These truths and practices are foundational to becoming a good person and are driving motivations for the staff and faculty at The Habersham School, as they pour themselves into students with a deep love of the Lord and a desire to lead them to lives of faithful practices that honor God.
Thank you for allowing us to come alongside you as your children take this journey. I believe there is no better investment that you can make. It’s not just about reading, writing, and arithmetic nor about athletics or other co-curriculars, but is also about who they will become while with us and who they will be long after they receive their High School diploma. Your investment is well placed and we’ll continue to pursue our commitment to the Classical model as we stand unwaveringly upon the Word of God.
