Dear Habersham,
As you know, in January, we began a national search for a Dean of Faculty & Academics. Our committee met with many well-qualified candidates from around the country. In the end, we all agreed our best candidate was the one already among us. I am pleased to announce Mrs. Jacquie Miller as the Dean of Faculty & Academics.
“When this position opened last winter, the first name that came to mind was Jacquie Miller,” said Mr. Jason Manley, Science Chair and Upper School Director. “We have worked with her in a variety of capacities at our school for a number of years, and during that time she has repeatedly proven herself to be a person of great integrity and intellect, with a seemingly limitless understanding of classical education in the Charlotte Mason tradition. Jacquie is also a superb listener with a true knack for clear thinking and organization.”
Mrs. Miller brings with her 22 years of combined experience in the areas of business administration, leadership, and teaching. For the past seven years, Mrs. Miller has served Habersham in numerous roles, to include teaching, teacher training and coaching, curriculum development, scheduling, and academic program development.
Having Mrs. Miller work with us in this capacity enables The Habersham School to continue to progress with excellence as we seek to partner with God in the restoration of His image in our students.
“Jacquie and I connected immediately on our common philosophies of teaching,” said Mrs. Angie Copetillo, Head of School Emeritus. “She has worked with us since year two, sharing her knowledge, organizational mind, and insightful, generous spirit, and in that time she has earned the trust and respect of all whom she has encountered – students, teachers, and parents alike.”
She graduated from William and Mary with a B.S. in business administration. She and her husband Colin have been married 26 years and are the proud parents of Katie, a sophomore at Dartmouth, and Grace, a rising freshman at Stanford University – both Habersham alumnae.
“I am honored and delighted to continue my work at The Habersham School in this new role,” said Mrs. Miller. “Habersham’s mission and focus are needed more than ever in our community and our country. It is a privilege to work with this talented and passionate team to serve our great students and families.”
Mrs. Miller is a model of embracing learning as a part of life, and we are glad to have her on board. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Miller to our leadership team.
Sincerely,
Chip Welch
President
