“miracle, wonder, marvel…something that causes amazement.”
The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky above proclaims His handiwork.”
When you walk outside and see a sunrise, or look at the stars at night, or see a beautiful live oak tree covered in spanish moss, you are looking at a miraculum—a miracle of God’s creation. Classical education teaches you not just to look at the world, but to wonder at it. To stop and say,
- “How did God make that?”
- “Why did He make it beautiful?”
- “What does this teach me about Him?”
You Are a Miraculum!
Psalm 139:14 says: “I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
You are a miraculum. God knit you together in your mother’s womb. He gave you a mind to think, a heart to love, a soul to worship. Even on days you feel ordinary, you are a walking miracle of God’s design.
Know the Greatest Miraculum!
The Bible’s greatest miraculum is not the Red Sea parting, or fire falling from heaven, or even the blind receiving sight. It is that the Son of God became man, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again to give us eternal life.
Romans 5:8 says: “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
That is the miracle of all miracles. Without it, every other wonder would fade away.
Becoming Part of God’s Miraculum
● Live with Wonder — don’t rush past God’s beauty…it is all around us. Stop for a moment to observe with fresh eyes, pause to enjoy and reflect, and then thank Him. Train your mind to enter into the great conversation – appreciate literature and language, marvel in science, engage in discussion, think analytically, reason logically, communicate persuasively, cultivate a life of integrity, humility, diligence, virtue and compassion, and prepare yourself to be a life-long learner.
● Live with Gratitude — every breath is a gift. The lives we live…ever so fragile, ever so brief, ever so amazing…are a gift from God. You, your mom and dad, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents, friends, classmates have been blessed with this gift of life. Be thankful for this miracle!
● Live with Faith — believe that God still works miracles today. He loves YOU. He is with you when you’re on the mountaintop and when you travel the valleys of life. Talk to Him, spend time listening to Him, cherish His Words in scripture, Trust Him and allow Him to continue the good work He is actively doing in your life.
Our prayer is that your learning at The Habersham School is part of God’s miraculum – He is shaping your mind and heart so you can go out into the world and be a light for Christ.
