Dear Habersham Community,
It is with deep sorrow yet with the hope of Christ that we share the news of the passing of Robert Wilson “Bobby” Welch. Our prayers go out to the Welch family as they mourn the loss of a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, son, and more.
Bobby was instrumental in the establishment of The Habersham School, serving as a founding board member and the inaugural board chairman throughout his eight-year tenure on the board. Working alongside his son, our founding President Chip Welch, Bobby’s influence and dedication have left an indelible mark on our school, and his legacy will be cherished for years to come.
Bobby was a lifelong visionary leader and an advocate for Christian education. With over forty-five years of experience in the private school world, Bobby brought immediate credibility and a wealth of knowledge to our fledgling start-up school. His tireless efforts and unwavering commitment were instrumental in shaping the direction and future success of The Habersham School, the fruits of which we all experience today.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Pam, daughter Angela (John), son Chip (Meg), son Jeff (Kate), step-daughter Amy (Chris), step-son Kip (Lisa), and 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Click here to read Bobby’s obituary including visitation and funeral arrangements.
Please join us in praying for his family and giving thanks for Bobby’s life as he has entered into glory.
Eyes on Christ,
Pat McCarty
